2s and 3s: FBC Brookville's "2s and 3s" Sunday School class is taught by Melinda Rudd. The goal of this class is to teach children about God and His love for them through Bible-based lessons and teacher-guided exploratory play/activites within a caring, safe, adn child-centered environment. Melinda is a mother of two young boys and has been a children's Sunday School teacher at FBC Brookville since 2005. She has a true passion for teaching children about Our Heavenly Father and His love for them. In addition to teachng Sunday School, Melinda works with children through FBC Brookville's Vacation Bible School and "Mommy & Me" programs.
4s and 5s: Primary (6, 7, & 8): FBC Brookville's Primary Sunday School class is taught by Kitty Kelley. Mrs. Kitty's main goal is for her students to obgain a basic foundation of the books of the Bible and commit to memory key verses from the Bible in a fun and exciting environment. Mrs. Kitty has been married for over 40 years to her husband, Tom, and is a grandmother of 5 (ages ranging from 1 to 12). Her parents' divorce at an early age has given her insight and a passion for ministering to children from unconvential family situations. Mrs. Kitty encourages children to participate and learn at their own level and to problem solve using Jesus' teachings and prayers. Mrs. Kitty also oversees FBC Brookville's HOPE ministry, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with children age 4-13 at the Carriage House apartments in Englewood. Youth Boys: Youth Girls: Young Adults: Sonshine Ladies: FBC Brookville's Sonshine Ladies class is taught by Mrs. Florence Jones. Sonshine Ladies is comprised of women aged 60+, but anyone is welcome to join. It is a group of sharing, caring, loving, and giving ladies who enjoy a unique closeness and togetherness. Most importantly, they love the Lord. While Florence has taught children as young as third grade in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, she is most at home in her present teaching capacity. She prefers to guide her classes rather than "teach," and she enjoys participation and input from others in the class. For fun, Florence loves to read and endeavors to make at least one beautiful quilt with exact stitching in her lifetime (a task thought by many to be unatainable). Senior Men: FBC Brookville's Senior Men's Sunday School class is taught by Tom Kelley. Tom's goal for this class is to equip senior adult men to discover God's plan for them at thier particular stage of life. Tom answered God's call to teach at FBC Brookville in Autumn 2008. In addition to teaching Sunday School, Tom is active in Vaction Bible School, personal evanglism, as a greeter before Sunday morning services. Tom enjoys playing golf and watching sports, and likes to lead the Senior Men's class as an open forum where everyone has an opportunity to actively participate and is encouraged to share how each week's lesson has impacted their life and witness. |
